I used to be huge into mountain biking back in the early 90s... And I'm actually thinking of getting back into it. :D
France Park in Logansport is a really nice place to ride. Make sure you bring a helmet though!

I think you'll enjoy the bike... I have a Trek 4500 myself. I dont ride nearly as much as I would like, but enough to stay in shape.

Ya I love it so far I've only had it 1 night and a day and almost put 20 miles on it. I didn't realize how outta shape I was. Let me tell you I hurt all over the day after my first ride but its gonna be worth it.

I abused the monkey snot out of a Trek 7000 when I attended Auburn University a decade ago and I am currently cruising around this tropical rock called Okinawa on a Cannondale F800 CAAD5.

I can't believe how far bikes have come. Yesterday I was looking at a specilized that had disc brakes in the front and rear, a carbon fiber swingarm with fox float shox front and rear, flat spokes, and a bunch of other goodies. Price: $3,500!!!!!!!!
