I want to get a linkage to run with my stock shock and swingarm on my 450r. I was looking at the gt thunder and the hermman. which one would lower my bike the most and take some of the bucking out. I also want to get my shock revalved later and made into a zps dual rate shock, so I want one that will work with that set up as well. I know I should go ahead and have it all done at once but I want to avoid excessive downtime. I need one soon so let me have some opinions. Thanks

for 1, you cant run a linkage without a revalve at least, i run the herrmann linkage myself, its high quality and i love it, i would go through precision concepts or gt thunder on the revalve, either 1 cant do you wrong :macho

I rode my friends 450r with a GT thunder linkage and stock revalve...and it was extremely nice for not having an aftermarket shock! I would reccomend this set-up if you dont want to throw out some big bucks!

also send 416exmx a PM...i know he has a GT Thunder link and stock revalved shock forsale for like $325 or somethin!?

DeRisi has what you are looking for. He does a revlave that is ZPS and dual rate, and his linkage looks just like the GT thunder. You will need to do this all at once. Mine works great. Here is a pic of the shock and linkage. www.derisiracing.com

I only weigh 165 so I think 416exmx's shock may be a little stiff for me, but I am trying to avoid downtime. may have to see if i can find something on e-bay. may have to buy a stocker to send off and get set up.

GT Thunder was extremely quick when they revalved my rear shock. It was just over a week from when I sent it to when I got it back.

You can't gp wrong with the gt hunder setup. 250 for getting it revalved and the link. Not to mention he had mine done in 2 days.

I agree. GT Thunder is the best bang for the buck and the turn around is very quick.

I got the gt thunder linkage and revalve Id say it was one of the best things I spent my money on. No more sketchy back end going thru rough whoop sections. It really made a huge difference. The turn around time is quick to. Laz does a great job.:D

Just to let you know, the GT Thunder linkage isn't designed for a dual rate spring setup! With the linkage you get a better progression so there is no need for a dual rate spring. With that you get a better initial low speed ride yet resistance to bottom out on high speed bumps and large hits. I would highly recommend this linkage to anyone. I've sold tons of these and haven't had 1 complaint yet. They pretty much sell themselves!

Can I run the GT Thunder linkage with a Pro Armor swing arm skidplate? No problems with the linkage bottoming on the skidplate?

Youll probably have to do some trimming but nothing major.

450r#221 did you have to modify your airbox to run the linkage? I have been told you have to raise it up when running a link. Or does modification of the airbox only nessasary when running a long travel set up?

No,The airbox was fine, but i did have to modify the swingarm skidplate a little.Last time i talked to Santo,he said he was working out something with PRM designing
an aftermarket skidplate that will accomadate the new linkage.Hope that helps.

your derisi shocks, how much did he charge and also how long did it take. How do you like them compared to aftermarket (if you know). Also what's up with the front springs. On afermarket you can adjust them, It looks like they can't be screwed up or down on yours. If there's anything you don't like about em' tell us

I think he still charges $725.00 for all three and that includes the new linkage. The shocks got converted to a Zero Preload design suspension (ZPS).You give Santo all your info, weight, bike type, riding type and skill level etc. and he sets it up for you. He is pretty quick on turnaround time but keep in mind,he does them himself so if you want them done during race time he might be out racing. I am very happy with mine and considering how expensive Elka,Axis and PEP are,if you get them setup right, they are just as competitive.Im not sponsored so gotta spend wisely.:macho
