curtis sparks

hey i was woundering how good a curtis sparks was for a 300ex i really dont like this performax and does any one know when the performax was made was it before or after the megamax cause arent the pretty much the same thing

Sparks are the best pipes available for a 300 IMO. They sound great and put out SOOOO much more power than a performax. Definetly buy one!!! The other good 1 for a 300 is yoshi, but they are no better than sparks and they are overpriced.

as much as i hate sparks they do have a very nice exhaust for a 300ex. Although, the TC is better..i raced youth production for 2 years, studied all the other bikes, went through about four 300ex's and one 250x with different motor builders, when it comes to 300ex's i know what im talkin about. TC will give you the most HP gains and noticable power on a 300ex...with the sparks in second.

sparks is the best pipe for a 450imo so it has to be great on a 300ex

Ive rode ALL the top pipes on a 300ex and yes the TC is the best. Pulls so hard bottom and mid, and a little on top....

My friend puta curtis sparks pipe on his YFZ450.......it is a excellent pipe...i dont kno if its the same for a 300 or not but it rips on a 450.....

I have a X-4 on my bike... I had it rejeted and put a knn on it. To be honest with you guys, I didnt notice a difference. This may sound kinda funky, but I think it is very rare that you notice an actual power difference from just a pipe. It makes you think you have more power and your ride harder, IMO. Good thing I got my pipe for free, or I wouldn't have paid for it. Sure does sound sweet tho, :macho

Your pipe must suck. Changing the pipe makes a huge difference on anything.

ok, tell curtis sparks their x-4 pipe sucks, tell pro circuit their t-4 sucks, tell white bortheres their e series sucks, tell toomey their t-5 sucks ;) I have had experience from all of these pipes on different machines of mine, they were all put on brand new and also were re jetted and knn filters were added with all of them. The biggest gain was the white bros on the 400ex and it was real hard to notice anything

teh top piped i ran on my 300 what the sparks x4 and a hmf with white bros header...imo the hmf is better but im not sure about tc..im sure the tc is better...


o and the sparks is the worst pipe for a 450 i saw the dynos and that pipe came in last..teh hmf was first

What did you switch from bro? A stock pipe?

If you switched from a stock pipe/filter to an X-4 full pipe + K&N you should see a VERY noticable difference. If you cant feela difference.. you're jetted wrong. Probably a little rich. Or, you nver make it to full throttle.. but since you're on here.. I'm sure you ride pretty hard. ;)

If you switched from another FMF or WB etc.. you wont really feel a difference.. but your times will show the difference.

I agree that the TC is probably the best by a narrow margin, but I love my Sparks.

I cut 2 inches off of my can and shortened ut up. One bad thing is the turndown will stick out past the grab bar. If you set it up on its tail the pipe hits.
