I have an 05 ex with the mods below...not many. Should I be running 93 octane or is it ok to run 87?

dont be cheap. manual says 91 is a minimum. run the 93 octane and it will perform better overall.

93, if your tank only holds 2 or 3 gallons you arent really saving much with the 87 but 93 is a lot better for the motor

I have a question for you guys, where do you guys buy 93 octane at? I am in MO and there is not a single gas station that sell 93 octane. If I am lucky, there will be an Amoco gas station that carries 92, very rare but I have seen it. Premium gas is 91! Are you guys just talking about premium?

91 is fine, you dont even need to run 91, i have seen many many bikes and quads run with 87 and they last plenty long. Hell i have a 1981 atc 185s totally stock, still runs great. And im sure it didnt have premium run in it all its life.
Most cars or quads/bikes that require higher octane will use 91 octane. My car (integra gsr) requires at least 91 octane from the factory. But up here i can only get 93 and 94 easily, so dont sweat it. 91 is fine.

What i am gonna start doing is getting the cheap gas and adding octain booster.

Yea thatd save you alot of money. Get some gas thats 30 cents cheaper and then buy 5 bucks worth of octane booster to bring it up to premium level....thats a cost effective decision.

I can buy a case of STP Boost for 10.00(24 bottles i think?).One container soes 20 gallons of gas,and I only buy it 10 at a time, so i tink it is a good decision.
