Is this shiny Maier or old Maier?

I ordered some Maier plastic and specified that I wanted the shiny kind. I have never seen new dull Maier or new shiny Maier so I am not sure which I recieved. How dull is the old plastic when it is brand new? Any thoughts on how to tell the difference would be greatly appreciated.

That is definately not the shiney maier! Maybe the add-ons are but not the other. I hope that you got a good deal on it. Is it for your wife? Or are you gonna put rainbows on it for yourself? LoL

How can you tell? The addons and fenders are the exact same in person... Also I was told it was ordered straight from the factory - is there a backlog at Maier for shiny stuff? Any surefire way to tell that this is not the correct stuff?

if that was minw it would allready be in the mail being sent back, you have two diff. colors of purple there buddy. SEND IT BACK, where did you get it at? Give them a call.

Looks like the old stuff to me as well.

The new stuff uses a cap of shiny plastic (like Fullbore) - so if you look at the edge, you can usually see the two layers.

I also order black shiny and they sent me the original satin finish...I called and they gave me 40% off the order, due to all the satin being discontinued....Id be calling them quick

Well I called the dealer - Marcums - and told him how mad I am. I specified shiny plastic at least a dozen times, and he did not contest that. He told me he just told Maier he wanted purple. He was not surprised that I called and seemed to be aware that I had been sent the wrong plastic, although I can’t imagine he would admit it. I have had several big problems dealing with him in this transaction and I will detail them all unless he clears this problem up quick and to my satisfaction. He said to call back at 1pm and see what he has discovered on availability of the correct plastic. I will keep you all informed on what takes place.

As a side note – does anyone know of a shop with shiny Maier plastic in stock (no matter the color)? I had a contract to sell this bike two weeks ago with shiny Maier plastic and I am still waiting – I need plastic now!

dude, maier prob will not start sellin it till most of the old dull is gone, they told me around 3months, so i jus bought the old plastic and delt wit it, looks pretty trick too

I got shiney front black race cut off ebay for $55.

I talked with Terry and we resolved that he would order new shiny Blue plastic and have it here within 10-12 days and then I will return the purple plastic to him. We will see if that is what happens. I will keep you all informed.
