Polishing Stock Oil Tank?

Will the stock oil tank on a 400ex polish?

it can be polished, its made of an aluminum alloy


however....

they are thin, and to polish out the rough texture you would make it thinner. i doubt it would be damaged but be forwarned.

if you do polish it, get some clear laquer, zoop zeal or have it powdercoated clear to seal it. it will oxidize very quickly.

I wasn't planning on Polishing the rough texture out, just polish the texture itself. I guess I'll try it on my old tank.

i wouldn't mess with it too much. they have kind of a crappy surface, and it would take a bunch of sanding to get it smooth.

just get it pc'ed in a good high gloss chrome if ya want it shiny.
