450r knocking sound

My friend just had new valve seals (I think), valve shims, 2 new valves, and new rings put in his 450r. He got it back, started it up, and the motor makes a really loud knocking noise and it will barely idle.

Any ideas?

If it is knocking then you're probably running too low octane gas. I can't really think of anything else.

Mine did the same thing after my dealer put in my hotcam. They didnt know what it was, so i took it to a mechanic somewhere else and he found that one of my valve keepers was about off of it. Id have someone tear back into it and make sure the valves are in good. I was lucky that it didnt come all the way off..... That would have been really bad.

a LOUD knocking noise is very bad.....sound slike it's time to go back to the shop...if it was a quieter like 'ping' noise then it would be octane. I would'nt ride it anymore either if I were you until the problem is solved ;)
