i have a piped jettet and airbox lid removed 250ex, i noticed with those modes it revs a lot faster and on some straight aways I hit the rev limiter but i had alot left on the throttle , i dont;t do this much but i would still like to go faster when i do,

well i was wandering if anyone knows anyplace i could get a rev-box or cdi box or something to give me more rpm's or is there anyway i can just take the rev-limiter off

any answers would be really apriciated, thanks you guys have been a tremendous help so far

They make rev boxes for 250s but they dont really work unless you have new cams or bore it out.

CUrtis Sparks, Four Stroke Tech, and pretty much of the big engine builders can mod your CDI box for higher revs.

Or remove the rev limit all together.

first get a cam, then a rev limiter and you wont have ne more problems

Cam won't increase his rev limit. They do add quite a bit of power though.

I was thinking about getting a cam when I get my top end redone. Do they really add that much power? Whats the best brand? Would it be really hard to get to when doing a top end?

im pretty sure the cam on your bike is in the bottom end and only webcam makes a afetermarket, and they dont actualy increase the rev limit but it really does feel like it as well as addind 2-3 horeses, and a new limiter wont do you much good with out one ne way

would removing the rev-limiter cause problems and how would i do it

is it hard to do

why wouldn;t it do anything when i'm going toped out i still have like 3/4 throttle left

I wouldn't remove the rev limiter because it would put to much stress on the engine. It also wouldn't advance the timing like a big gun would.

It shouldn't be bad, my dad has one on his 400ex and it's fine. It's just a Little harder to start when it's really cold, but you don't notice it at all when it's warm.

why don't you just go a little bigger on your front sprocket

if you went to a smaller size rear tire you will top out quicker, 250ex come with ballon 22inch tires, so if you changed to 20inch to got better get up and go but lost top end speed.

give the big gun a try it could help

im not 100% sure so dont hold it to me, but i would imagine the XR250 CDi box would hook up and increase your redline by atleast 1000rpm
