trx 450r mixing oil with gas

hey i own a new 05' 450r and i just installed a dyno jet kit and k&n air filter. It works great so much quiker but when i check the plug looked a little white and i was allready running th bigest jet i had 180 so my buddy allways runs a little oil in with his gas, some two stroke oil so i dicide to and it worked it darkned up the plug perfectly so i was just wondering if an one else does that, and if so what kind of oil do you mix in with your gas. any help would be great!!!

i have heard of ppl puttin like a teaspoon of 2 stroke oil in a 5gal of gas, but i don't see the point, or why anyone would risk a 6500$ quad by doin so

you dont change the color of your plug by adding oil!!!!! it means your jetting is off. 2 stroke oil is meant for a 2 stroke not a 4 stroke whoever told u to do this is a moron

I see alot of people run 50/1 60/1 ratios when breaking in their new motors. It really wont cause any harm unless you really rich on oil. I haven't done this but i've seen people who have and none have had any problems.

oil mixed w/ gas leans the air fuel mixter by the oil taking up the room of the gas. on that note , thats prety fn funny:eek2:

It wont hurt your bike whatever these guys tell you. If anything, it will just foul the plug. but never do this in substitute of jetting.

YEARS back i use to run a cap or 2 full of Marvel Mystery Oil. in my old honda.
we still run it in the tractors!!

I have seen alot of people doi it in small engines especially. The biggest benifit would be to cushion the valves in place of the now absent lead. A few of the problems would be a less efficent burn and eventual carbon deposits...

Not exactly. There is no harm in running a small bit of oil in a four stroke. Not really a benefit but it definately wont hurt anything long term. hell my 2 stroke buddies will pour their pre mix into their cars after a day of riding and they still run fine. Oil is just a lubricant.

i'm telling ya...a shot of wd40 in the gas tank is the only way to go. It lubes the piston up so it goes up and down in your engine like twice as fast!!!!!!! :eek2: :eek2:
