Steering Stem 400ex

is there anything i can do to make the stock Steering Stem stronger ?

as i dont have the 300-400 for a good aftermarket one :(
and cant seem to keep the rubber side down :( lol

thinking if i could buy a new 55.00 new stock one a mod it to be stronger ???

weld half tube on the outside of the shaft ???

or 3/4" solid steel bar cut to length and fit into the center of the stem shaft. ???

pics would be great, if u can get them.

stock handle bars seem to be holding up good !!!:macho
i would like the handle bars to be the first thing to bend when i ride under the top of the quad.:rolleyes:

If you make it too strong then other more expensive parts will start bending and breaking.
