I have a 200 400ex that i bought and it does smoke its not bad but i wanna rebuild it this winter. I am gonna start buying parts for it but i dont know what i am gonna do. I am thinking about a 416 kit but is there any out there that run pump gas and where can i find the kits? I would really like to keep the compression closer to stock and be able to run pump gas. I also want to get hotcams for it but i dont know what would be the best stage for me. I run lots of trails around my house but i also like to get on the roads and drag race other quads, so top and mid range are kind of important there. Can anyone help me the biggest thing i want to have is reliablilty thanx for any help

get an 11:1 piston, xr400 gaskets, and a stage 2 hotcam with the 416 kit

JE 10.8:1 piston
Hotcams Stage1
CRF450 cam chain
Port and Polish

all these things will have you a nice 416 that you can run on pump gas.

Is a heavier cam chain needed? how much does porting and polishing cost

a heavier cam chain is not need but it will not stretch as easily, and a port and polish could cost you and where from around $160 to like $450.

Which of the hot cam would be the best for a 416. If i could get more mid and top and not lose any lowend power i'd be happy with that so which one would that be?

well thats what the stage 1 does. it does not take away bottom, but adds a little mid and top end. the stage 2(new stage 3) takes away bottom but adds alot of mid and top end.

Thanx Jak1389 for the help I think i am gonna run exactly what u said sounds like a good reliable set up. Where can i go to order JE pistons online dennis kirk or Rocky mountain doesnt sell them where can i find them? What would also be the best exhaus system that is quiet like 96 decibles or under. I gotta have 96 or under because I sometimes ride with wisconsin trail patrol and they are picky with noise levels Thanx for the help

i bought all of my motor parts from the site sponsor C&D Racing. they hooked me up. a good quiet exhaust might be the HMF quiet race series.

drop the motor off at a shop. 800$ later pick it up.
