I just thought i would show my 450r after i painted the wheels black but i kept the ring/lip silver since it gets scratches/scuffs very easy. I also painted my heat shield and clutch cover black. I have only been on one ride so far , but everything looks ok for now. On the wheels i used 2 coats of primer , 3 coats of black and 2 coats of clear. I used 3 coats of high temp paint on the heat shield and clutch cover , but i did the curing process just as the can said so maybe it will hold up. But anyways here are some pics , tell me what ya think ................

i went thru the whole painting your wheels things on my 300ex :( needless to say i will never own a set of painted or pc'ed aluminum wheels again, it just doesn't hold up in those areas

I think that they look pretty good , i just figured i would give it a try. I have been thinking of getting some hipers or the itp t-9's , i just want a black wheel thats not heavy like the itp c-series and can hold up well.

did you just tape off the wheels for the outside ring? And what brand of primer, paint, and clear coat did you use?
NICE ;)

i wouldn't paint the clutch cover if you were mx boots. i pc'ed mine black with clear over it, and it gets scuffed up bad every time i ride. but i just wax it after. and it's a lot glossier than that heat paint.
