Is the edlebrock carb a good choice with a stock 300ex running an aftermarket pipe?

put a 400ex carb on there you will see a big power increase. you just need to make the intake a little bigger.

An edelbrock is an excellent carb!! I would say definetly buy one if you have the money. I just got a lectron 36mm carb for my 330, I am actually going to put it on right now:D :D :D :D .

yeah if you ever get them jetted right, my friend tried that and ended up throwin it away because it was too hard to jet, stick with an fcr

well then he just can jet cause the one on my friends 300 was super easy to jet. I think he has a 155 or 160 right know and it runs perfect. didn't even have to touch the needle

take a dremel or a drill with a small grinding stone ( not a cutting wheel ) and just make circle inside until the carb fits...it`s only a little work and it`s well worth it in the end.

i had a 400ex carb on my 300ex and it was a very good and cheap upgrade, under 100$ canadian . The only thing you will need is the 400ex throttle cable. I did'nt even oversized the intake boot, but it was a very tight fit! For jetting i was at 148 stock 400ex jetting, with FMF powercore4 shortened, Uni filter and open box.
