What are you all doing to relocate these items when switching to aftermarket bars that have crossbar/pad setups. I switched bars this morning and am looking at what I'm going to do to fix this cleanly.
Thanks

I put my stock plastic piece back on after switching to Renthal bars. It works, but the key is close to the pad. I have seen some billet bar clamps that relocate the key, but not the temp light.

ive seen people put holes in the bar pad for the temp light

i put the key to the side and made an aluminum bracket for the light.

i use black electrical tape to hold my temp. light to the handlebars and just put the key switch under the hood

do it like 450RGNCC here are some pics that are a little easier to see, the key is under the uni sticker

I zip tied the key under the hood to one of the brackets..and leave it in the "on" position all the time.

What are you guys using to cut that hole? What size drill bit, or hole saw? I've got the factory console on their now, and I just don't like the look or the function. Without it bolted to the factory bars, it moves around, and the key hits the barpad. I'm entirely against drilling out the plastic because the machine is 4 days old, but I've got some scrap sheet metal and aluminum around, I think I'll fire up the plasma cutter tonight and build a bracket. Thanks for the help guys. Any more ideas?

One of my buddys just switched to tag bars, i bought them but haven't recieved them yet and he just bought one of those aluminum dashes off ebay. It was 20 bucks and looks pretty good. Try a search for it. You may even be able to make one like it.

Punk'd, dont you hit that key with your knee? I would be bumping it all the time if I put it there.

I did away with the switch, replaced it with a tether switch. I zip tied the temp light to the head of the frame just under and to the left of the handle bars (where the stem bolts to the frame) I can see it very easily there.

If anybody is using there key as an anti theft device or to keep people from joy riding it -dont. You can hot wire a 450R in 3 secs and be gone, 5 to 10 sec on 250R and 250X. Get a tether switch and solder the wires so you atleast have to cut wires and or hold the tether open.

Tag T2's with a white LED mounted in the switch for the temp and the key is mounted under the left side.

I you don't want to drill, cut, or chop you can consider the tag t-2 kit.

My fan turns on all the time?

ok if your a trail rider the fan might work. but if you race mx, or xc chances are the fan will never turn on. there is always enough air travelling through there to not need the fan. even if it gets muddy the fan won't help cause the radiator is all clogged up and the fan can't pull any air anyways.

Ebay has a mounting plate for the renthals and aftermarket bars. I paid 17 or 18 for it. It holds the key and temp light.

I will be making more. First I need to modify the design , maybe add a hole for the vent hose to go through. ???

I'll let you know when they are done.

Here's a close up.

Maybe engraved with "Quad Works" on it? I like the chain part! What about maybe for the big bar size?
