Best 416/425 kit and price...

Hey guys, I am thinking about making the ex a 416 or maybe 425 (426). I have a few questions:
-What is the best kit for the price? I want to spend as little as possible...
-What is the best bore size/cam combination?
-How much have your kits cost?

I will most likely purchase the piston kit from Marcum's, and then buy a cam elsewhere (drop-in only!) I am also going to do all the work myself, including boring and honing. Thanks!

I would go with a 416 so if you ever have any Problems you still have one Bore left on your Stock Sleeve. The cheapest 416 Kit is the one from Marcum`s. You could also check out a TC 416 Piston and Cam. TC`s Piston Kit is $120 and his Cams are $179 or $209.

I am running the marcum's kit it consists of this:

JE 87mm 10.8:1 416 piston
Cometic Gasket Kit
XR400 cam (drop in)
Viton Valve Seals

Alls this costed me $277 to my door,,,, and let me tell you this thing hauls balls!!!!

what would be a mint set up for my 300ex? like a high compression piston or something? I dont want to do the hole bore thing and stuff

A 300ex bored .80 over with a 400ex carb and 11:1 piston , webcam would be "mint"
