250r shocks compared to 400ex shocks, whats the difference. is there any cons to running 400ex aftermarket shocks on a 1986 250r? if anyone knows why i should not do this or why not please let me know as soon as you can. thanks :macho

The 400ex wieghs more so they will seem stiff and the 400ex shocks are slightly longer which will make you sit slightly higher.

i dont think they are longer, i have measured the length of my shocks for both bikes and they are the same, only nj300ex is right 400 shocks on an R will be stiffer, depending on the previous owners weight and your weight though they might work ok for you

400 shocks are the same length as 250R shocks, my friend has them on his R and they work just fine

Only difference is valving, with a good pair of shocks you should be able to adjust them to work on both rides. I plan to buy one pair for both bikes. I am buying a EX as a race bike and keeping my R for the dunes. I'm just gonna buy one set of TCS fronts for both.
