How does a 250ex do in snow with snow tires or without snow tires? What is the deepest amount of snow it is able to go in?

I'm just dying for winter to come so i can see and find out because in the summer its just boring.

250s do great in snow since they have alot of clearance with the shaft drive. i had tires that were just like the vipers and it did GREAT. i lead in trails and let my dad on his warrior follow up once i broke up the snow for him. just make sure you have tires with some meat on em and it will go about any where in mud, snow, water what ever you want.

uh, yeah

it was like hit the deep snow, about 7 feet later i completely stopped and snow covered me, like a big splash

uh, just, below the axle is the farthest you wanna go

Won't the shaft get hung up in the snow that is 6 or 7 inches deep?

A few years back a friend of mine had a 229EX and it was awesome in the snow. We were going through stuff that was up to our waist no problem (it wasn't flying through it, but it was making it just fine). That's probably the only reason I'd ever get one is to screw around in the snow, it seemed to have good enough clearance not to get stuck.

nah, in deeper snow just be on the throttle alot and keep it in higher rpms and itll plow right threw. snow is real soft and itll pack down before it it gets hung up on the rear end.

Anyone got any pics of them going in 6 or 7 inches of snow or pics of them just plowing through the snow like paper?

6 or 7 inches of snow is nothing, you'll breeze right through it. You can make it through 1 foot but you won't be going very fast and you might get hung up. Depends if the snows packy or powder.

Here's my 250ex in a 3 foot tall drift

Sorry for the large and bad pic

That looks like it's really packed down though.

lol no way in hell a 250ex will do over 3 mph in a foot....you will be struggling with 6-7 inches...depending on tires and terrain levels...if its an incline u aint making it....

1 foot is pushing it but you shouldn't get stuck in 6 or 7 inches on flat land.

And yes, I was stuck in the pic

I think power is a negative when it comes to traction in snow, not really dissing on 250ex's..... but they dont have much grunt... for example, my wheeler sucks in snow, the best for me to do in snow is lug the crap out of it to a point where it dont get much power. For snow I think you need slow acceleration, bigger the tires the better... and a lighter machine. 250 would prolly do one of the best in snow for a 2 wheel drive, in my opinion.

just keep your momentum up and keep most of your weight over to back tires and you ll be good. you shouldnt have to much trouble gettin through 6 in. i had my 400 goin through 8 in + last winter you just gotta mash the gas keep your weight on the back and dont stop. once to get some good paths goin ware ever your ridin its not bad at all. the make a tire for snow i think is called "4 sno" it like a sand tire only with smaller pattles

Get on your knees ( :huh ) at the back of the seat, stand on the grab bar, or just sit far back on the seat. You just need to keep all your weight over the rear wheels.
