Worked on letting the boy try his hand at a choppy section of whoops. poor suspension took a pounding!

the first 3 arent too severe and he was able to double into the section

the next 2 get a bit taller, and the little 90 started running out of suspension..lol

by the 6th set he was keeping the front end light and letting the quad work

It was funny watching adult riders try and follow him, when they slowed down for the section, he charged it!

most of the time he could double double double, then he would have hang on as the shocks couldnt handle it no more.

I was happy to see him hitting the stuff pretty hard. a few times the front end would wash out and he would stay hard on the gas and keep it rockin!

Landing from the picture above shows how the front end took some serious pounding. for a quad with very little suspension travel, i think it held up pretty good

even on a good run, the 90 just did not have the quick acceleration to get it over the last few sets as they became farther apart

The track water truck arrived and made it into a muddy mess. he hit a few times for the expierence but it got a bit slippery!

2 days of nothing but whoops, the poor kids hands are just giant blisters

Pappy

I need to get video so i can learn to put clips up, pics are great, but too static

Pappy

Oh well, was a great learning expierence for him, no broken part just a few blisters and some mud.

I was pretty nervous everytime i would hear the engine rev up and i knew he was going to hit it, i dont think ill watch when he finally gets on a full size quad

:p

pappy what are you feeding this kid, he looks like a future pro! So is he doing MX or XC, or both? Looks like he likes to fly

Pappy, you need to get some short clips of that boy on here so we can all see him tearin it up! :blah: :macho
I know I would love to see some of the kids back East that ride since Ill never be able to prol. make it that far out for a race :(

Pappy

lol..yes he wears goggles when they are needed, and most other times. imagine being pulled over by your dad, instructed what to do so he can get a few pics and your goggles fog up. usually they get tossed until i grab a few shots.

what does he eat? anything he can catch:devil: he likes to ride, doesnt matter to him what the type of riding is!

with dust making the corners slick he even was squaring the corners. he needs much more quad then he is on:(

Pappy

he is actually getting big enough to handle the quad in the air. i dont notice it until i look at the pics, then i see him shifting his weight, moving around etc. kinda cool watching someone learn to ride.

this was his 2nd favorite shot of the weekend, him taking off to clear one of the larger obstacles in the section. i usually like to see a riders eye's to call it a cool shot, but seeing that he outrides me ill give him the benfit of the doubt:D

are there 2 straps missing from his boot?

Pappy
07-03-2005, 02:47 PM

lol....my screen is so fuzzy i had to look at the full size pic to see it.

he has new fox formapro's but they are stiff and just a tad too big and he hits his nerf bar when he shifts. (was funny making him take a shower with them on...lmfao)

I've saw them first hand. While they may may be reliable there is a ton of work u have to put in it even after u get it in it's considered " race ready stage" for 8 grand and what u get, it's not even close to being worth it. When you can go run the piss out of a trx90 for hours at a time the Cobra you will be working on for hours. Don't get me wrong, Cobra's could be a great investment for a buyer, but they need to work some bugs out of them first.

id have to say from what i have been told by riders equal to cody, it wont hold up.

its not legal to run in the 90cc class at the gncc's so i dont think we will let our points go just to switch either. maybe when they release the 90cc cobra with some MAJOR improvements will i shell out the cash after its proven to be reliable. reliable enough for 10 miniute moto's is not the same as an hour long thrashing in the woods.

Yeah, didn't think about the woods racing. MX only here.
