I was wonderin if I could paint my heat shield on my headers with regular spray paint or would it catch on fire and burn my leg off or somthing thanks

you could use high temp paint, but it will soften and be prone to damage when it gets hot. not too mention rub off on your pants! lol..seen that many times:devil:

I painted mine with 1500 degree heat paint. It held up well...just come scratches...but I was gonna redo and I started to take the paint off with a wire wheel on an angle grinder it started to shine the metal...so I just polished mine.

mothers mag and aluminum polish works awsome, if its got deep scratches i would suggest sanding it smooth with fine grit sand paper before you polish it tho, thats what i did on my bumper nerfs and heat sheild

Yea, but doesn't the header get distorted anyways from the heat? I tried polishing mine with Mother's and after a while it turns a blue color and isn't shiny anymore.

paint the pipe itself with the 1200* heat paint, i doubt polishing it would work
