Just wondering if anyone knows if the swingarm pivot bolts for 400ex vary in diameter for different years? Mine is a 99 & the old bolt is about 60 thousandths smaller than the other one I have when I measured them with the calipers.

I've never had a problem using either of the swingarm bolts. I had a 1999, 2000 and 2001 and neither of them had problems switching bolts.
Reason for the switch is because I was in a jam for a ride, I had accidently screwed the threads trying to get it out for some lube. Had to end up stealing one from the parts 400ex(2001) along with some Elka's and a reworked shock.
I'm wondering if your size difference is due to some wearing of the bolt?

Thanks for the help guys. Just found out that I picked up a 300ex bolt that was laying in the box. Now I've got to find the 400ex bolt.
