I haven't been able to find front motor mounts for an 86 either. PC'd motor mounts just aren't good enough for me. lol

I have just checked my Honda microfiche and the mounts are the same for all four years, so any aftermarket mount that fits the later models will fit the 86 also.

Wow, thats good news. I always thought that the 86 mounts were different. Also many of the motor mounts I've seen are advertised as 87-89 only. Thanks for finding that Rich250RRacer.

Aftermarket billet ESR mounts and other billet mounts do not fit on the '86 frame. The frame mounts holes on the '86 are slightly different and the aftermarket mounts have a built-in offset..

If stock mounts fit all four years and share the same part numbers, how can the mounting holes be different? I took the part numbers off of a Honda microfiche, there should be no difference.

TRX250RJapan is right. The 86 has different mounting holes that will not work with 87-89 mounts.

The stock mounts are all the same, but the 86 has the thick frame mounts so the ESR style will not work.Im knowif the stockers are the same why wont the others work?.Trust me ,they wont.

BTW,I see some on ebay every once and a while from a place called smc(starks machine co.,I think). They are either stainless or aluminum, also a member here(Zedicus00) had a line on some aluminum mounts. Both were patterned after the stockers, but with a little more bling.

The distance between the mount holes is the same for '86~'89 frames but since the frame mounts on the '86 frame are thicker the aftermarket mounts with the built-in spacers will not fit on an '86 frame. I'll post pist of the mount differences later after I find better pics of an '88~'89 frame.
