my valves seem to tick louder than normal at start up after its ran about 5min it sounds like something catches and they sound normal i just had top end rebuilt about 15 hours on rebuild could valves be loose ? it didnt do this before rebuild

only way to find out is to adjust them, your cam chain could be junk so u might need to replace that

I set my valve lash at .004" all day long with no problems. Hot camed 440...adjust them a couple of times a season.
