they arent poisonous but carry the same precautions as bats, rats etc.

The head on yours is also much bigger and thicker than a corn snake....

get a pic from straight down, it could well be a milk snake. from the posted pic it looks like its pattern is spread out.

I checked all variations of the corn snake and its patterns none have that color / pattern, close on the pattern but not really that close.

Plus like i said the head from what i can make out on his pictures looks wider than a cornsnakes head.

Its a corn snake just a morph of a corn snake which means the coloration is changed. just release him were u found him hes a good mice catcher.

Its a corn snake. They are actually pretty rare in WV! Sell it on ebay $500. Hey all you WV people wanna be in a book go out and find a northern pine snake. Only 2 northern pine snakes have ever been seen in West Virginia, both killed on the same road on the same day in Monroe County in 1940. Or a good way to get people to stop building in areas that you wanna ride (if thats a problem). Find one of these snakes and then say you found it there. They would immediatly have to stop what there doing and wouldnt be able to continue!

Corn Snake - and a pretty one! :) I have had two of them (still have one)......just let it go - he's harmless and he will get really stressed if you try to keep him in captivity. If you want to buy Corn Snake (they are also called Rat Snakes) though - buy one from a snake breeder or pet store. They make great snakes - easy to feed, easy to take care of - real mellow..........

Well It may be a fox snake, but due to the little strip going across it's head it's most likely a corn snakehttp://www.repticzone.net/images/12517/Sierra001.jpg

Like you said Pappy ... it's a milk snake . I worked at a Large Science Center in town here , and I was in the wildlife department .... I've handled milk snakes exactly like that one .
