View Full Version : tranny/Crankcase Plug

Where is the tranny /crankcase plug? I've succesfully drained the engeine oil, but I have no idea where the tranny plug is.

please help!

ok, check out your owners manual and it will tell you, if you dont have it, your tranny bolt is on the right side of your bike, it is right behind your rear brake lever on the cases, you should see it, hope this helps

ok man, sorry i didnt see that you have the 04 450r, i have the 05 and i dont know if it is the same but its worth a try, good luck though

yea it is on the right side back behind where the pegs mount...

Its a pain to get to though. Youll need a swivel socket to get in behind the brake lever

I didnt need a swivel socket, i think i just used a small extension so you go inbetween the frame and the brake. Just use short turns until you break it lose and then you can get it with your fingers. Do the same in the opposite order to put it back in.

Many different choices.. just make sure it does not have molly in it,,

moly is an additive found in many synthetic oils. i run maxima ultra synthetic in both sides. i would also consider amsoil, klotz, or even shell rotella if you want to pay much less.

just a question. so the oils stay seperated once you put them in, I thought they mixed together once you fill it?

I just used the honda gn4 in both sides and so far its running great.
