Well yesterday while riding my raptor, I clicked into second gear, and it wasnt there, when I gave it gas it felt like being in neutral, and then it just locked up and shut off. Started it back up and did it all over again but then I clicked into 3rd and it spit and sputtered obviuosly because I wasnt going fast enough. I know what the problem is, but I'm wondering, did anyone else have this happen to them? With an 2001 Raptor?

So many people have had this happen that there is a big website devoted entirely to the 01 raptor transmission. www.raptortranny.com

Get ready to shell out some big bucks.

just hope you didn't mess up your case or the top end of the motor.

This is why the '01 Raptors sell for so much less then the others..may not be cheap to fix...

Well what happened was it fell out of place. So I really shouldnt ride it because it could pop back up and get caught into all the gears, which would destroy the other gears and ruin my case. So I'm not gonna be riding for a while.

That sucks!! I have heard from several guys that a full tranny is $800 - 1200. This included parts and labor. Are they doing something else to it as well? $1600 sounds very high.
