I think someone sells shrouds, but they are tough to find. Don't bother with a jagg cooler, they are too expensive. Four stroke tech makes one for $85, which IMO is a great price.

I run the FST and it diff. makes a huge difference on the temperature of the motor. I would recommend a oil cooler only when you have gotten into the motor or ride for hours on end. other than that if your motor is getting too hott to quick its probly your jetting.

scoops are very cheap and easy to make, you should def. try it b4 you buy a oil cooler, all you do is go down to the hardware store or sumthin to buy some sheet aluminum, at my local homedepot though the aluminum sheets were too small so i bought some zinc so they wouldnt rust, then go home take off your front fenders and use a cerial box to make a template once you have the shape ypu want outline it onto the sheet metal and cut it out, then if you can drill the holes b4 you bend them, its alot easier that way, when you have the first side mounted just flip the template around and do the oposite for the other side, they make a huge differnce in engine temps so its def. worth it

ok thanx and do u kno if lik larger pistons will ruin the engine i saw these weisco 40 over 11:1 compression im not sure 2 get em or not

06-29-2005, 10:09 AM
do u mean .40 over? the 11:1 wont hurt your engine and you should still be able to run on pump gas (only 93 octane though) but it will make it run hotter and i would get an exhaust airfilter new jets and a cam or port job before i went with a hi. comp. piston

40 over is correct terminology.. it means 40 thousandths over; 0.040" over; aka. 1mm overbore.

A 40 over w/ 11:1 is great.. but if you don't need it.. just get stock bore w/ 11:1 and get the sleeve rehoned (as long as you are within tollerance. If your not the 40 over is perfect. Any motor shop can rehone.

If your quad is more than a couple years old and been run a lot.. I'd just assume an overbore.

Four Stroke - Tech's website is www.fourstroketech.net

Just send Mickey Dunlap an e-mail or call him and they will get you set up. They did my 330ex (mods below). GREAT guy to work with.
