Need some more throttle

I'm looking for some more throttle resonse on my 300 for takin my skinny *** up them big ol' hills. I dont neccesarily wanna dip into the motor quite yet though. I figure i will just wait for somehin to go worng before i do that. I already have sparks x-4, k&n filter, and jet kit. I was thinkin maybe a new cdi box and a carb? What do u think.

an fcr carb will drasticly improve throttle respose, and cdi would be awesome too, but there are very pricy not really worth $500, the best thing you could do is get a port job, i know you said you didn't want to get into the motor but porting makes a big differnce on a 300 mainly because the head was the same one designed for the 250x and that head is even small for the 250, so porting is def the way to go if you ever want to do ne thing else to your bike it will be severly held back due to the small ports

just ordered a 1000 rpm ricks electric rev box? anyone ever had any experience with them? What can i expect. I hope its worth 85 bux.

if it works at all it is worth $80 i think a stock one is like $200 and the vortec and dyna are around $500

without going into the motor, try Mikuni or Kehin flatslide 38mm carb...this is a great mod for a 300ex! And you might try an aftermarket cam, its just a drop in so you dont have to do any motor work....

500 no way. A sparks is only around 100. Someones gotta be able to back me up on that.

i dunno about sparks , are you sure you arent talking abot a rev limiter
