Hare Scrambles In KY

There's a hare scramble coming up on July 10th at Eagle Creek Park in Owenton, KY. There's usually only 4-5 quads, so we need more! It's a challenging course, but a very laid-back atmosphere. Alot of times, just a couple laps take home a trophy! All of you in Central KY, Southern OH or IN, come on out, challenge yourselves, and have fun! You'll need an AMA membership to race. You can register for one there if you don't have one already. The gate fee is $10 and the race fee is $20. If you want more information, call Jim Darlington, the owner, at 859-472-3442. Sign-in time for the bikes is usually 9:00am, the quads a little later, but you may want to call before you go. They've been known to change it. I'll be there on July 10th with a white-and-black Z400 and a red Toyota Tacoma (and surrounded by a bunch of dirt-bike guys!:D) .

FYI: There are also HS's on August 21st, September 18th, October 16th, and November 13th. There's a poker run on July 31st, too. ATV's run with the dirt bikes and just about everybody gets some sort of prize.

how far away from indianappolis i am already an hour west right on the indiana illinois border

Owenton is right in the center of the triangle formed by Louisville, Lexington, and Cincinnati. I would say about an hour from Louisville and about 2 1/2 from Indy.

Yeah, if you guys can make it, that would be great. Those of you who can't, the poker runs are fun, too. Lot of guys show up for those.

From Frankfort:
US 127 North
Right onto Rt 22
Right onto Fortner Ridge Road
Fortner Ridge Road becomes Crossroads Pike (stay to left at any forks you come by)
Left at Mason Lane
Stay to left and follow Mason Lane to Eagle Creek Park on right.

From Louisville and parts West:
I-64 East
Exit 58, Route 60
Left at exit, Rt 60 west
Follow Rt 60 to Rt 127 North
Follow above directions

From Lexington:
I-75 North
Exit 159, Route 22 West
Left onto Fortner Ridge Road in Owen County
Follow directions above.

From Cincy and Northern Kentucky:
I-75 South
Exit 159, Route 22 West
Left onto Fortner Ridge Road in Owen County
Follow directions above.

If anyone's coming to Eagle Creek for sure, let me know what you're driving and riding. I'd like to keep a lookout for you. Be sure to bring alot of water, too. Forecast is 91 and very sunny.
