i was wondering is it a good idea to install a 13t sproket. i have just installled a hrc kit it runs good but it just needs that extra something. would the 13t sproket do the trick.

it will depend heavily on the type of riding you do.

i switch back and forth, but i feel the 13 tooth "feels" like it takes too much top speed away.

im no pro but i have just started riding on the track and i found that with my stock 13t sproket i could go around the track mostly in 3rd and some fourth but i have been told that if i drop to a 12 it will bring that 4th gear down a bit and allow me to use fourth most of the time without worring about bogging down. like he said experiment a little and see what you like. i need to excelerate faster between sections and that is why i change. but if you are not riding track with short sections then you may want that top end that you get with your 14. also the rear sprkt can be inlarged to create more exceleration but then you have to worry about clearence and weather you can still have a skid plate on.

Yeah
When I go to a place with alot of hills and tight trails i go woth the 13 tooth. But I like the top end of the 14 tooth

For xc racing and for woods in general I like the 13t.. It does take just a bit from the top... imo
