this is a really goofy question but i like the looks of the square bar pads and i was wondering, would they fit on my Oneal bars with stock clamps? or do they need a certain bar and aftermarket clamps?

yeah it should fit. it might be a little loose because the bars that those pads are made for are thicker, but it will work. I dont think you will be able to use the round pad that comes with youre bars.

Im not sure you want to take of the crossbar because that will weaken the bars.

the guy you see running without crossbar pads are probably using the 1 1/8" bars instead of the stock 7/8" size bars. if the 7/8' bar you are using was strong enough to be used without the crossbar, do you really think the manufacturer would have put it on? That would just be unneccessary material that they have to use

My friend took the crossbar pad off of his 7/8s Pro Tapers so he wouldnt have to take that black pad with the key and stuff off. First time he wrecked, the bars bent very bad. It does weaken the bars a lot.
