The March of Dimes race was set to be a hot one with very dusty conditions. Located at the Missouri Mines State Historic Site just next to St. Joe State Park. With a mixture of sand and rock and the 95 degree weather, racers were were set to test their limits.

The gang from Missouri Dirt Riders put on the race and was going over the days events and track rules at the riders meeting.

Most of the riders were staying in the shade of the tents were a silent auction to benefit the March of Dimes was also being held. 50/50 chances and raffle tickets for various prizes were also being sold.

Spectators lined up all along the railroad track to watch the class take offs and then would have to jump in their cars and head back over to the mine site to catch the rest of the race action.

10 women headed to the line 9 took off on the track and by mid way thru the first lap 3 others would DNF. Jill Gilreath on the Kawi would take first today for the womens riders.:D

You could see the clouds of dust way before the riders so you knew someone was coming.

Many riders were coming past shaking off the armpump or the pain from smacking something hidden in the dust.

One racer said he saw a deer and it was kicking up enough dust that he thought it was a quad at first.

The woods were just as dusty as the open spots maybe worse in a few spots were the dust just lingered in the trail with no breeze to push it away in the trees.

Governors Cup Award presented to Todd Senger for the overall win.

This completes the race coverage for this round of the MHSC. Thanks to Mo Dirt Riders for another hard worked and well organized race to help benefit the March of Dimes. Congrats to all the racers for competing in the dry, hot, dusty conditions. See ya all at the races.

nice pic of me thanks, i did 2 laps but me and #13 and 2 other guys were lost in the dust and definetely cut off about 10 minutes of the track :-p so we were cut back a lap :( darn dust!

Hey Johnny & Monica, you got a pic of the Cannondale?

Nice race guys, it was alot of fun. I don't usually make it up to the missouri series but Jeremy told me I had to for this one. It was a fun course but man, that rain could have come in a few hours earlier. I was choking bad on all that dust.

My hats off to all who raced this one it was hot an dusty , But the Mo dirt riders club really but a big effort into this race (Greg Kinkler,Tom Pentergast,Brain Jone`s thanks for use of foreman Brain:D ,Geoff George,Patrick W ,Rick shroup) I`m sure I missed alot of names but these guys but on a great race an work a week getting it ready.I dont belong to a atv club but if I did it would be with these guys Mo dirt riders. You guys are the best....Count me in next year to work this one:D

You mean the c-dale with the candy red powdercoating on it I seen it there several times great looking quad Most of the pictures Monica took didnt turn out because of the dust.But if that was your sweat cannondale you wasnt un-noticed:D :D

Yea Great Coverage!! I had to miss it due to being in a wedding but it looks like it was a good race to miss due to the rough conditions. I cant wait until Jamestown! Are you all going to be at that one? ( I know there is an Iowa race Sunday)

Congrats to Powerstroke! I cant wait till you move to AA!! You are smokin fast man! Maybe next race I can stay within 3-10 minutes of you since I hope to have some shocks!!!

Jamestown an flat river are both on same weekends as Iowa :( We`ll make Newark an Florance to finish off our Mo. series that`ll give me my 4 write offs an 1 work average Hopefully get something at Mo. banquet other than drunk an a weekend with out the kids :D

Ugghhhh ok...You should get something at the banquet I'd think. I have already missed 4 races, and the races I raced I did not do to hot at. I still have not got used to that dang 450R not one top 5 finish to date.

Anyway get good coverage of Iowa I like to look at it to! I am going to try to make one more Iowa race this year, they are pretty dang fun. Hope to see you all around at Florence. If not I will see you at the banquet. Thanks for all you all do. Later, Josh

We would like to thank all of the ridrs, peewee's, and others that came out to the desert last weekend. This was about the driest that I have seen the place. We did have one od the 1st years when it was over 100 that day, what is a couple of degrees when it is that hot. Hope that you had you truck windows up? Just think about the sorry person who left them down because of the heat.

Yea I'd say you and a couple other A guys will be going AA next year. I thought I was going to......but turns out gaining about 20 Pounds in a year will slow a guy down:eek2: Or maybe I just thought I was faster than I really am the entire time and did not find out I was not all that fast until I moved to A.
