clip?

where is the clip in the carb everyone talks about when dealing with jetting? how does a 160 main 40 pilot sound for the mods in sig and im getting a full hmf pipe. my elevation a approx 2000ft. i want my jetting to be pretty close while oim breaking in the motor. any pics would be apreciated. thanks

i think you will need a bigger mj, dont quote me to this but i think the jet will be to small, and are you running with or without lid?

i found out it is the needle clip. where is it in the carb and how do i adjust it?

it is on the top, i dont have as much experance with quad carbs as i do with dirt bike carbs but you should be able to take the very top of the carb offf and see the needle somwhere, the quad carbs are a little differnt but you get the idea

Your quite a bit lean. I have the HMF full system and am running a 180 main.

EDIT!!!: NOW THAT I AM FINALLY DIALING IN MY BIKE I AM RUNNING A 160 (WITH THE QUIET CORE AND AIRBOX LID ON).

I went from a 180 to a 172, 168, and then 160. With the airbox lid on and the core in I could only do about 5 miles on a spark plug (it was THAT rich).

I may be 1 size to lean but it runs great!

you are also at a different place than i am so the conditions will change. the hmf i bought from 300exrida, should be here friday (i hope), and i asked him if i could trade him my stock jets for his larger ones sicne he doesnt live that far from me and had alot fo the same mods, and he's just giving me the entire carb. so i think it will be set pretty close if not perfect.

i had a 162main with full t-4, k&n, and aluminum airbox nd it was jetted perfectly

ok nobody answer my origanl question. which setting makes the jetting more lean or rich on the needle clip. like up lean or rich or the lowest one is rich or lean. please help.

drop needle down to make it rich, raise it to lean it out

Does anybody run with the needle jet at stock for their full HMF system (airbox lid on and quiet core in) because I made mine one richer and it is too rich!
