View Full Version : Bent Rod?????????

Okay last month my engine just stopped operating in the middle of a trip I was making with it. Well I took it to this guy I know that does small engines and he said my rod is bent. Hedosnt have the tools to get it out. How much should I expect to pay? What is detailed to do ths job?

Remove the entire cylinder ***'y., split the cases, remove and press apart the crank (if it's still any good) and re-assemble. Pretty much can't go any deeper into the engine. You need to figure out exactly why it happened before you just replace the rod and put it bact together (fix that problem also). Cost=? sorry, can't help you there.

I have no idea how it happened but when I first checked the engine after it blew it had barely any oil.? Could that be a reasn? I need more details and prices Please HELP

really, it depends on if the rod took out anything wit it, might as well start orderin mods for it, it could be awhile

he said you BENT the connecting rod...?

did you suck a bunch of water in the motor or something to that effect...?

I'd be giving serious thought to a second opinion before I did much of anything ;)

Like an hour before it blew up I crossed a small creek but it was only like a 1 1/2ft deep

I putted through the creek it was like only 15 ft wide but like hr later i ws riding 5th gear!

Evreyone i have talked to says it's about 350 to install a new rod.
I would get a second opinion on what is wrong before i do anything. Give Mike at For Dirt Only a call he will probly have a good price to do the work and knows his stuff well. I am sure he would more than happy to help. 740-967-1078
