Google is your friend. Here is one that I found.

ATVNC (http://www.atvnc.com/forums/index.php/board,4.0.html) has lots of cool videos. The Bansee vs. Civic video gave me a good laugh :D

I like it. It looks qucik but for the money it doesn't seems that much faster than( I think it was a 450r) than the other quad. Yeah maybe off the line it killed it but when the other was moved it didn't beat it by much. Unless it just looks slow in the vid. Could be wrong.

I would like to have one thou.:D

that last banshee was close to it :D

06-26-2005, 08:20 AM
You have to be blind not to see how fast it is compared to all the quads it raced, good example is the huge lead he gave in the first race.

The last banshee only stayed close because of the wheelie the DS pulled at the start and then he bought back down by dropping off all throttle, plus the banshee was no where near stock.

How much are those turbos roughly?

06-26-2005, 05:56 PM
Priced one out of Puerto Rico for the Raptor and it was 4400 bucks for everything.

Not cheap.

That DS 650 was INSANE!!! I don't see any normally aspirated engines touching that thing...

Yeah but wouldn't it be cool to go home at the end of the day and tell people how you smoked everything at the dunes on a stupid looking quad?:D :macho

Nope, they are a good bit smaller than anything on a car, the smallest car turbo i have personally ever seen is a KO3 on a 1.8t VW Jetta, and i would say that that turbo is about 2x to big for even a 650...

thats still a fairly sized motor, i would say if i did a turbo project, i would choose and original austin mini turbo, they almost fit in your hands cupped together

o yah, and chaz502, you might wanna reword you sig a lil better, the first line doesnt make sense when you read it out loud lol

i have seen a ds650 with a bottle strapped to the front bumper. he said it was on a 35 shot and it seemed to be pretty quick. it got beat by a 2 banshee's (very worked banshee's), and a 250r on alcohol. this was all at silverlake and it was a weekday so there really wasnt too much racing going on.

After looking around some lastnight a figure a Garrett gt12 turbo would be about you best bet on a wheeler, its efficient upto like 130 hp... or half that of a KO3 found on a Jetta, however i didn't feel like dling the compressor map for the gt12, but i would figure it would be about right, at least for something like a DS or Raptor.

Wouldn't it be just about impossible to hook up a turbo charger yourself? I would that would take a lot of time, effort, and a huge amount of expertise in welding and engine tuning?

the hardest part is getting everything to fit in such a small space. other than that, dealing with an turbo is actually easy
