i just put on the diamondjcustoms widening and shock relocator kit w/ 400ex shocks.i raced 2day and even in the small whoops the front of the frame would hit the ground. i seemed like the shocks were really soft although i had the springs tightened up all the way. it is set a the lowest ride height b/c the tierods wouldnt fit with any other settings-too much toe-out when they were tightened all the way in. can u revalve stock shocks for 400ex for more compression dampening? or is some else messed up?

you cannot revalve/rebuild the stock 400ex shocks from years 99' thru 04', not sure about the 05' models though

can i put stiffer springs on them? or are they junked? i just got them off ebay and first ride was 2day

why dont you get some longer tie rods like the ones off of a 400 or sumthin

how long are the rods off a 400ex w/o ends? it came with tie-rods for +6 widening. i need shorter tie-rods to have more toe-in. i just doesnt seem right that the shocks almost bottom out over small whoops with the shocks tightened all the way.

ya it makes a world of differance cant tip it onto 2 wheels. i think it is 49 inches in front.im wondering if the shocks are blown? pics in a lil bit

I would put it back to stock. Or get extended 300ex a-arms and real 300ex shocks.

First off, if your frame is hitting the ground then your compressed shock length is too short. No matter how stiff of a spring you put on there, once the shocks are compressed they will still hit on the ground. If they were a rebuildable shock you could add spacers on your shaft to compensate this, but that is out of the question. Whoever is manufacturing these arms must not know anything about suspension geometry and how it works! I would try and get your money back.

I dont know, that thing looks pretty dangerous, I wouldnt want to be riding that when it breaks.

actually, this kit will not break, a friend of mine races w/ it on his 400ex and i swear it added like 20lbs to the quad, this stuff is THICK, but i doubt very seriously that they know anything about geometry. i'd never run it

looks like your a arms dont have enuf movement for the shocks. so in other words the shocks have more travel than the a arms
