i know they are gas guzzlers but besides that would they be good in the woods

IMO their one of the best in the woods, Ballance used to be #1 on an R, EASILY. However, now that there was the big switch to 4-stroke, Borich gives him a run for his money. Most likely he just hasn't found his niche on the 4-stroke. I think if he had the oppurtunity to switch back, he would.
Hell, I switched from a 4-stroke to a 2-stroke. Might seem backwards, but I couldn't be happier.

The woods is the only place I ride my R's. I dont know what you mean by gas guzzler. My range is 70-75 miles per tank, right on par with the 2 Rappys, and 2 Z-400 in my group. And the thumpers cant hang.
in addition to these guys comments, barry hawk was a 7 time gncc champ aboard the 250R,
arguably the best trail machine ever built

the first one is mine, for that pic, its set up for mx, when i want to go xc, i adjust the rear axle width and change the tires. there is a link that says photos, click on that for more pics of the bike, on the page i linked, it lists my set up
the second one is a friends and it is set up for xc only
both of the R's linked above have a lot of money in them....racing is not cheap :devil:
