I was wondering if i went down a tooth on the front sprocket of my 05 450r if i could do first gear wheelies alot easier i can power wheelie through all the gears and in third fourth and sometimes fifth "depending how brave i get or flat the road " i can stand up and ride one for a long *** way but just cant seem to master the 1st gear wheelie always end up falling off I am pretty big at 6'5 and 275 but the power wheelie just seems easier needs some suggestions because i am tired of fixing my bar

get an ac grab bar and perfect your wheelie with seat time

I don't have enough seat time on a 450r to say so, but they do have a pretty tall 1st gear I noticed. Dropping a tooth may help you out, but I think you can also get the slow stuff down with practice even without the gear change. Start out by giving it more gas and a more aggressive release of the clutch from a dead stop. The quicker you get the front tires in the air and to balance point, the better off you are.

Def. get more seat time on there, but going down a tooth wouldnt hurt either.

just master that brake in first. thats all you need, start braking before you get to far back.

the stocker is aluminum right? I'm sure you can find a steel one somewhere, either aftermarket, or maybe there is another quad that has one that will fit....sorry I can't help much more than that.

think that i might just try and fab one all thought worried if it is to strong that it might end up tweaking the sub frame if i really hit it hard

i see that alot of you guys that are reall good at stunting usually ride the 400 ex's are the easier to do tricks on than the 450

if u get an ac grab bar or 6 pack rack, could it be used as a wheelie bar?

i dont think any of the grab bars are worthy of being a wheelie bar..

a lil metal, a mig welder and an hr of your time is better spent :D

i agree, the wheelie bars that are sold by these companies basically suck for wheelies. but that is because they are grab bars and not wheelie bars. make one yourself and you will have something that will not snap, or wear down anywhere near as quickly!
