View Full Version : anymore mods for a 250ex besides exhaust,airfilter

i have an 2004 250ex and i was wondering if there are anymore mods for it i have and fmf megamax exhaust and a k&n air filter with outerwear and three inch holes drilled in the air box lid and i wanted to knwo if there where any more mods pefromance wise besides boreing it out

did you rejet yet also take off all the uneccesary parts like all the black prastic under the front fenders the brake light and the head light if you dont use it then shave the fenders if you still arent satisfied have someone port the head and throw an aftermarket cam in there maybe even a hi comp. piston ;)

A Big Gun rev limiter supposedly adds 3 hp., but I dont know if thats true. It also allows 1200 RPM more, and gives it more low end and mid range. I might get one in the next few weeks.

thanks for all the ideas and i hope to get that stuff done to my quad but its going to lower the relieibleity..but i am going to try to do these things to my quad thanks ill let you know how everything goes

i got 2 jets that i am going to put on i got 2 higher ones a 97.5 and a 100 but i think the 100 is going to be to big so and i disided not to get the rev box so wheni put the jets on this weekend ill let you guys know how it went

ive done this to my 250


change the air filter
diff exahaust
Jet kit
removed air box lid and little pink thing on bottom
handlebars
nerf bars

yo u can put a bore kit from powroll.cim you can do extended axel and arms for better turing and all around ride plus do cut fenders and up grade the carb. i'm getting ready to put new extended axel and a arms on mine and hopefully put new Work shocks. I'll let you know once its all done.

thanks for the advaice 250exryda73 but i don't want to bore my quad out i don't want to blow my quad up i still want to rely on it i did re-jet my carb but i think i need a bigger jst i have a 100 in now what size should i run in it

if you want to keep it reliable, leave it alone and just learn the basics to riding. then i would sugest selling it and picking up a better quad for all around sport riding. you can sink a lot of money into modding it, and you will get more for it for it when you sell if you take care of it and leave it stock. oh yea, race gas/high octain is pretty useless on a stock motor and can cause you it to not run right.

your right quadrcr161 but i still have all the stock parts for my quad i used to have a trike and then i bought a 250ex but know i want something bigger i want a 300ex i really like the looks of then my quad is in really good shape
