Is it a clutch or transmission problem

OK i just bought a 2005 450 about three months ago. My buddie also bought one the same day. Whe I am out riding sometimes when I go to get on it real hard it acts like it is downshifting when I am not doing any thing put pinning the throttle My buddy has also noticed this with his any ideas on what the hell is wrong with it

What do you mean "like it is downshifting"? Do you mean that the motor just revs higher real sudden, or it makes a lot of noise in the tranny like it is shifting? Have you checked your cable to make sure it is adjusted properly? Also, if its an 05, does it not still have warranty on it, if so why not take it to a dealer and let them worry bout it instead of trying to figure it out?
