sup guys, does anyone ride dual sport motorcycle/dirtbikes? i was thinking about maybe looking into a used one to cruise around with when i get older. seems like they would be pretty fuel efficiant and i would be able to ride around with my friends with bikes. i wouldnt want anything crazy or real fast, something simple, pretty cheap, and still able to go through some dirt. a guy around here has a suzuki drz400?? i think and it seems pretty cool. it looks just like a dirtbike with blinkers and lights. what would be a good starter bike-how are the drz400's? i know honda makes the street legal xr650l but thats bigger than i would want.pics and stuff are welcome too, thanks

there's a kid who rides his to school. my school's up on a hill so when we got out he takes a shortcut down through the woods and beats everybody down to the main road. its pretty sweet.

I've heared they're good bikes. My buddy has a hand-me-down from way back in 76, and it is still running great. Guess you would call it a dual sport, it is a dirt bike, with all the street legal stuff, and mild suspension.

I want to get one when I turn 16 really bad lol at the local hare scrambles alot of them ride in with the xr650s and such, go out and race and ride home its awesome. :macho

yea man they look fun as heck.i guess the reason why i thought about them is because the cops are really cracking down by me on quads and its just getting annoying having to deal with it, especially when you dont have the oppurtunity to travel to legal areas. im really liking the newer style yellow drz 250s and 400s. does anyone know what these 250s or 400s make for power and what an estimate top speed would be??just wondering

my mom just got a dual sport. it is a yamaha 200cc somthin. it is black and has beefy tires. if she dont mash on it it is possible to get 45mpg which isnt all that good for a bike I guess but is way better than her jeep liberty.

Mt friend has a Suzuki DR 200 street and trail bike.... it isnt too bad in the woods , but it is quite a dog on the road. Topped out on flat on the road it does max 65 , but thats like redline haha.
For some reason tho ... itll climb anything it seems in 1st gear
