Clicking Noise

hey on my 400ex when i rev it up (doesnt matter wat gear) i here this clicking noise...its only one click but its at the same rev point each time......any idea wat it mite be? its been doin it for a while but i jus discovered that it does it at a certain point each time

could be your cam chain. also do you have an aftermarket cam? if so it could be that.

does it jump forward or ne thing after the click

ok my 300 is completle stock motor wise....no pipe cam nuthin.....and no its jus clicks....i can pull the cluth in and giv eit gas and at the same spot in every gear it clicks......ive heard it while its movin too....but thats jus it...i only hear it...it doesnt do anythign...jus the noise

When valves are sloppy they will tick at all RPM's. Im pretty sure of that. You can correct me if Im wrong. At least mine did. they clicked all the way thru idle to WOT. Why would your valves only make one tick at a certain RPM? I dont think they will. They will tick constantly.

i dunno....ima take it to my mechanic and see wat he says...

mine does that too after about 10 mins of driving hard it clicks quite a bit then goes away after a while. if that cam chain would jump off or slip then your timing would be off and your wheeler wouldnt run. it could be the valves too but why would it only make the sound at a certain rpm? whatever it is thats making that sound, i dont like it:ermm:
