I just got my K&N airfilter and dont really get how to clean it. well i no how to clean it but do u take apart the air filter or keep it how it is on there and clean it?

take it off and follow k&n's instructions. on their website or on the box the filter came in.

do you mean the paper element from the ruber stuff ? that stuff dont come off

u no the like redish color that the K&N is. Well do u take that off and clean?

The crimson colored emelent and the rubber part all stay connected. do NOT try to take that apart.

Spray the filter with cleaner, or soak in soap and water. Then hose it off (low pressure) from the inside.

Let it sit and dry overnight.

Spray on fresh K&N filter oil.

If you just got it.. you dont need to clean it. They come clean and pre-oiled.

Yes, it stays intact. Don't sweat or lose sleep over it, lol.

Yup.. the entire filter that came in the box stays in 1 piece.

Rubber End, Gause Filter, Wire Screen, and Rubber Boot are all glued together. You just clean the whole thing. I don't even take off the steel clamp ring.
