I want to put a new cam in my 1999 400ex. I have a big gun complete race sysytem, edelbrock quicksilver carb, k&n power kit, and high compression valve springs.. Should i put in a web cam or try to get an xr 400 cam.. i would like to hear from people who have them and how they perform!!!

The xr cam is a good cam, but I will be replacing mine with another cam in the next couple of months. The reason for this is because the xr cam is still a very mild cam (it's just the original stock cam out of the ex/xr motor). If you want an all around increase in power, the xr might be the way to go. Other cams focus the power in different parts of the powerband.

Hot Cams is the way to go, stay away from the xr400 cam, I have the xr400 cam now and I am not happy with it at all. Give C&D racing a call, they will be getting these cams in soon, they are also a straight drop in cam with no core charge, these are just about the best cams available, GT thunder is dropping there cam and is going to swicth to this stage 2 cam.

Specs for the Stage 2 cam and GTT/WEB 450-451/WB Track cams are VERY similar. I know that these are not the only specs determining a cams behavior but they are all close and you'd be hard pressed to tell the difference. One benefit of the Stage 2 cam is that since it's not welded it might therefor be a little more forgiving with the rocker arms.
