clean your carb to make sure they didnt leave any crap in there, are you warming it up first? maybe water in the gas what colr is the smoke

the smoke is a darker color almost black. There is also some sputtering untill it warms up. do you think it would help if i removed the spark arrestor? because it could be jetted to rich but if it was removed it would make the exaust opening larger?:(

ya, your jetted way to rich. check the plug for the color. try goin down a size or 2 on the main jet and that should help you.

they jetted it wrong. lol thats pretty bad when a shop cant install a jetting kit right. but anyways, yeah try taking off your lid or drop 2 sizes down on your main like everyone is saying. also if it is doing it when you are idling, then raise the clip 1 spot and try that.

When I first got my 330 kit in early 2000. I had my local Honda Shop (that has their own race team, lol), jet my carb since I had not been to the Jetting school of hard knocks, yet.
They put in a 128 main, and put the needle clip all the way down, and cranked the pilot all the way open... that was their jetting.. lol.
Now with proper jetting I'm running a 138 - 142 with middle clip position on the needle , and 2-3/4 turns out on the same engine, lol.
Moral of the story.. Shops can be just as bad at it or worse than we are.. lol.

i took my air box lid off and when it fired up it still puffed black smoke when i would let it idle and then tap the throttle hard. You think maybe it could be the carbon build up in the disks because i have the spark arrestor in?
try to clean you muffler out then i think your suposed to soak it in gas or sumthin :ermm:
my 400 did the exact same thing, my oil ring was completly dissinagrated:eek2: i have no luck with used stuff , rode it 3 times and had to rebuild the whole motorand a new clutch:mad:
