View Full Version : HMF spark arrestor and quiet core

I just installed a hmf slip-on today, but cant figure out what way to install the arrestor. Should the round bulge part be facing outward or inward? Also, where can I get a quiet core?

it really doesnt matter which way you put it. i like it pointed inward that way you cant tell its there:D i run mine without it tho

Ok thanks. My HMf is so loud and I need to get the quiet core. Anyone know where to get it?

i got mine thru C&D Racing(402-614-2508 banner at top of page) when I bought my HMF's. I have my cores in 95% of the time, LOVE THEM.

are they really that loud or only when you really gun it? will the quit core kill that much power?

The quiet core DOES make a difference in sound. When I first installed my HMF I installed the quiet core at the same time so I never heard the pipe with it out. Well I took it out a few weeks ago since GNCC racing is not doing sound tests anymore and WOW what a difference. so yes they do make a big difference and power wise I really couldn't tell that much of a difference.

as to installing the sparkarrestor by itself we recommend installing the bulge to the outside, it redueced the temp on the screen and will keep from burning a hole in it. Also if you get a quietcore it comes with the sparkarrestor already attached.

so when you put the quit core in u already have the spark arrestor on too...?

:D But what a sweet sound it is!!!

Quiet core makes a huge difference.
