my cylinder is stuck...

im in the process of rebuilding my 400ex and i cant seem to break the base gasket seal with a mallet. whats the trick?

oh by the way...these pics were taken before all of the stud nuts were removed

whack it while someone else is lifting it up. i had the same problem it just took a couple of minutes but it came off fine.

I had the same problem the first time i rebuilt my motor. I used a rubber mallet. Hit it hard enough and eventually it will budge.

Did you take out the 2 bolts on the outside ( clutch side) ?

ye there out too. I just need a bigger mallet and maybe some extra hands. good idea tho.
