I found the info below on the 8th page of a thread.

Here is a updated post from Cindi on Doug's condition.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Doug is doing Ok. He is really banged up but finally at home.

They took him to the hospital for neck and back pain. Also he wasn't remembering what happened. He didn't remember he was racing for about 40 minutes. Since he just had been knocked out only 7 weeks ago they were concerned. When we got the the hospital they did cat scans and several x-rays and decided he needed to stay. They saw a break in his back between his shoulders so they did several more X-Rays. They had to call in a specialist to determine if the fracture was old or new. They woke him up every hour throughout the night to check for numbness and vitals due to the head trauma.

The next morning they determined the fracture was old and probably from his crash a Birch Creek. They did a few more X-Rays and released him. He left the hospital in a neck brace and on crutches. His knee was sore and they were afraid he may trip and fall and they were concerned about his neck. They didn't see anything wrong in his neck but it is very sore. They say you don't always see the hairline fracture right away and they want to be safe.

He is not liking the neck brace and is getting a little cranky. LOL

We did talk to Bobby Ross's dad. He was in surgery when we left. His dad said they were able to fix his hip. They didn't have to use the titanium. It broke is 3 pieces and the doctor I beleive was going to plate it. His dad said he is determined to heal up and race at Lorretta's.

Glen Vaughn (not sure how to spell that) from the plus 30 was getting a pin put in for his broken hip but was doing well.

There was a guy I forgot his name but he races an A class and broke both ankles when he came up short on the big step up. He had surgey on one ankle and was being sent home for 2 more. He was doing good.

Russell Shoemaker #66 crashed on the big step-up when his carb fell off as he was already committed. He bailed over the bars like superman and landed on his feet but he has a pretty bad sprain. I wish we could all learn to throw the bike away like that. He is doing good.

I wish them all well. And thank you for all your emails and calls on Doug. I will keep you posted on his condition.

Coming out of the first sweeping turn at High Point, on the 2nd or 3rd lap of moto 2 (he was dead last - he got hung up in the start) all by himself he high-sided and got bucked back around and rolled a few times. He wan't moving, got taken out on a stretcher. It sucked! He's almost 40 and still taking spills like that. Some of the Suzuki guys said he was complaining of back pain. Well, I hope he heals up. I'm glad to hear nothing is broken bad and he's moving around.
