I am runnin at 200PSI... I know i gotta run race gas... but my friend has to mix his race gas 50/50 with 93, otherwise it dont run worth crap. hes got a 440ex with 13:1 piston and all the head work. Im wondering if I would benefit from pure race gas, or should i mix it 50/50? and yes, he did run it pure, and it wouldnt run that good in the upper RPM's

On the R,run some 108 or 112 and gap the plug to .020.If you want to mix gas use the 93 and 112 at 2:1(2 for the 112 and 1 for the 93).I personally dont like the gas mixing but ocassionallydo it with 120 and 101 when my dealer is out of the 112.

On my R I was pushing close to 220PSI. I was mixing Race gas (112) with 93 and it worked great for me. I mixed 3 gal 112 to 1.5 of 93.

my 250r pushes 275psi that run nothing but 112 pure or 118.

also run VP race fuels i have never had any problems with them

now i wanna take the time and see if i can correct or inform somebody right

race gas ffirst off smells awesome lol, but a stock motor is around 160-170 if im correct, not with you i would say run 50/50, your engine will not benefit from pure gas. most people like you will run 50/50 cause it dont hurt there engine and keeps the wallet fatter if you know how much it costs lol!

second thing when running race fuel, race fuel is slighly less dense then regualar fuel, meaning you gonna need just alittle more through the jets then you would running regualar fuel, also the combustion of race fuel also again is slightly different cause is is less dense and high octane there for need to run jetting for it.

i have had high rpm suttering problems and allittle jetting smartens that problem up.

the idea being if you dont need race gas then you are just paying $6.00 a gallon to smell cool.

if you have a sputtering problem running 50:50 mix you gonna need to swap out a main jet perhaps a slot on the needle vavle and your good to go.

hope i helped and informed i read a really good article about race fuel and the differences a year ago. real good stuff

so then qhat do u suggest for me? 50/50? or just reg 93? i can run 93 with no pinging or anything, but the guy who did my port work told me to run at least 50/50, if not more. wich is machwon

you are running slightly higher compression i dont know about what the portwork though cause port work donesnt change compression.

from what i know and learned and sure of is this.

the only reason an engine "requires" high octane fuel is because of high compression. with high compression lower octane fuel can actualy combust before the piston reaches Top Dead Center causeing a pinging noice, extreme combustion temps and slightly there after piston melt down.

my suggestion to you is this. im sure you could run 93 just fine and if you had to i would . i would run some sort of mixture of race gas. if you are 200psi if it floats down to 170-185 psi you definatly alright to run 93 but for now if it were my investment i would run prob like a 30/70 or 40/60 or if your wallet if big enough 50/50

ALOT OF PEOPLE THINK RACE FUEL INCREASES POWER AND HORSEPOWER, THIS IS VERY UNTRUE, IT SIMPLY MAINTAINS HORSEPOWER BY COMBUSTING AT A HIGHER COMPRESSION AND HEAT RANGE THERE FOR LOWERING TEMPS AND COMBUSTING COMPLETLY

THEREFOR RUN SOMESORT OF MIXTURE IVE EVEN TRIED HIGH QUALITY OCTANE BOOSTERS THEY ARE ALRIGHT AND WILL BUMP OCTANE RATING BUT DONT SEEM TO RUN A CLEAN AND STRONG AS vp RACING FUEL DOES!

HOPE I HELPED YA OUT
