I am in the process of installing my Barnett Clutch in my EX. My questions is, There is 1 extra steel plate when I put them all on. So there is 7 Kevlar and 7 steel. You are suppose to start with a Kevlar and end with a Kevlar, so now if I need to put them all on I will have to either start or end with the extra steel one. What should I do? i know there is a few of you out here running these. Come on.

Geez, This just sounded like a installation questions to me, NOT a problem, but I quess you would now, right? And when you sit back and think, Today is a Holiday, which means everything is closed, And besides what is this site for? It's for providing info for people that need it. Thanks for your concern tho 440, but I was workin on my bike today and wanted to get it finish.

Just decided to upgrade since I beefed up the motor a little, it is the Barnett S-Series, comes with Kevlar plates and stiffer springs.

Just to let you all know, when I go ahead and put in the last steel plate then, it does not catch on the teeth that the others do when I put it on, it barly even stays on there because it will not slide in the hub at all, anyone else know?

I'd call up Terry Marcum and get his opinion on it,,he's got a toll free number,,so it won't cost ya much..

I use the Barnett kits also. You will use the same exact setup as stock. 6 metals,7 clutch disks. I also align all of the disks in a row. They are colored red. You just have a extra one in your pack. Consider yourself lucky.

The last plate is offset for a reason!

Tell me the reason then? I was told to do this by a professional engine builder. I have been told some motors from the factory had the last disk aligned and some didnt. If you look at it and think about it, It cant make a difference. Its doing the same thing either way.
That clutch disk does not know or care what position its holding tabs are in. They are round! The rotating ROUND surfaces of the abrasive material(clutch disks) makes contact with the metals when compressed. Right? Plus the Barnett kit comes with red marks on all of the clutches indicating to me to align all of them. Ive ran three built motors. I built two myself with 13/1 Pistons and ported heads and cams etc. making over 40hp and have had no problems. If you know something different or can convince me with facts that there is a logical reason not to align them, let me know.
