if you still have that plastic thing on the bars id say your only option would be somethin like the moose utility guards. i had those on my recon and they were alright. blocked the cold wind in winter quite well but i did get a crack in them when mounting them. i got powermadds now on my 400 and love em. youll prob get the same response from anyone else with powermadds, only thing is youll probably have to take the plastic off to be able to mount them.

Trevor those are UFO handguards, my brother use to have them on his Blaster. I would say the best handguards would be Powermadd for the look and price.

when you buy powermadds, i guess you have to buy the mounting kit for it also? oh and are there any companies that sell handguards and mounting kits all in one or something along those lines.

I have tusk handguards. I like them b/c they are fairly cheap, look ok, and you can change the plastic on them fairly easily and for not much money.

cant go wrong with powermadds, they have so many features and accessories it doesnt matter that a lot of ppl have them, you can customize them the way you want...and they look the best too, IMO they complete the look of your quad

i don't really like powermadds.

the powermadds are just a little cheaper on ebbay than the cycra listed above. here is a link...

powermadds on ebay (http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/HONDA-SUZUKI-YAMAHA-KAWASAKI-POWERMADD-HANDGUARDS-450_W0QQcmdZViewItemQQcategoryZ43964QQihZ001QQitem Z110002957338QQrdZ1QQsspagenameZWDVW)

here are my old style maier on the old 400ex, and the new style maier on my 450r. the old style are exactly the same form the ex's. as a matter of fact, i took the old ones off the 400 and put them on the 300 when i bought new ones for the 400

450r first:
